Mill Creek Sink Development Threat

CURRENT ISSUE:

Multiple developments, including a 523-home subdivision called Tara Forest West, are nearly approved on over 198 acres directly above Mill Creek Sink, a karst feature that drains into the Floridan Aquifer.

Outcome:

Concerned local citizens and advocates sent in 700+ pages of emailed public comment, and 50+ speakers spoke in person against the Tara April Special Exception Permit, which was ultimately denied, putting a stop to the administrative process allowing the development to build over a sensitive geological feature.
