Trash Bill (SB 1822)

During the 2024 and 2025 session, a bill was being voted on to remove any laws or prohibitions for single use container trash in the entire state of Florida.  This would mean that many beaches, springs, and spring fed rivers that were relatively trash free would have those protections removed.  Floridians Advancing Florida’s Outdoors members contacted elected officials, made repeated trips to Tallahassee, and spoke in front of multiple Senate committees. Their efforts combined with outraged Floridians and elected officials were enough to defeat the bill both in 2024 and 2025.
